This unit does not show its serial on screen. There is no button combination that reveals it, so the only way to read it is to take the radio out.
You will needA set of PC5-83 release keys (flat U-shaped pins), about £4 from Halfords or any motor factor. Do not use screwdrivers, they mark the fascia.
- 1Slide a release key into each of the four corner holes on the face of the radio.
- 2Push them in with gentle, even pressure until the clips let go, then draw the unit straight out. Nothing needs unplugging.
- 3Read the sticker on the back, top or side of the metal case. On some units it is engraved rather than printed.
Take it off the radio, not off paperwork. The number in the handbook or on a dealer invoice is often for a different unit than the one actually fitted, and a wrong serial buys you a wrong code.
