DAF Truck serial number BP, 4 numbers, a letter, then 7 numbers

This unit does not show its serial on screen. Holding DISP, which you may have read about, puts the radio into code entry rather than revealing a serial, and wrong attempts can lock it for longer.

You will needA set of release keys (flat U-shaped pins), a few pounds from Halfords or any motor factor.

1Slide a release key into each of the four corner holes on the face of the radio.
2Push them in until the clips let go, then draw the unit straight out.
3The serial is on the label on the back or side of the casing, or engraved into the metal.

Take it off the radio, not off paperwork. The number in the handbook or on a dealer invoice is often for a different unit than the one actually fitted, and a wrong serial buys you a wrong code.
