The TravelPilot does not display its serial on screen. It has to come out of the centre console so you can read the sticker.
- 1Push a release key into each of the four corner holes in the fascia.
- 2Apply gentle outward pressure and the unit slides forward. No wires need disconnecting.
- 3The serial is on the sticker on the back or side of the unit. Enter it exactly as printed, including the prefix letter.

Frequently asked questions
Ford TravelPilot navigation radios lock when power is disconnected, typically after a battery change, a flat battery, or when the radio has been removed. Entering the correct 4-digit code unlocks it.
On most TravelPilot FX units, the code-entry screen appears after the serial is displayed. Use the numbered station preset buttons (1–4 or 1–6) to enter each digit. The exact method varies slightly by model. Refer to your Ford handbook for the step-by-step entry procedure.
Serials beginning with C7E3F (found on newer Ford Transit, some NX navigation units) use a dealer-database system rather than a calculable algorithm. We are unable to provide codes for C7E3F serials. Contact a Ford main dealer or specialist radio decoder for these units.
