Volvo serial number 2 letters, 3 numbers, 2 letters, 7 numbers

This unit does not show its serial on screen. The number is printed on a label or engraved into the case, so the radio has to come out to read it.

You will needA set of radio release keys, a few pounds from any motor factor.

1Slide a release key into each of the slots on the face of the radio until the clips let go.
2Draw the unit straight out far enough to see the case.
3The serial is the 14-character number on the label, or engraved into the metal on the back or side.

Take it off the radio, not off paperwork. The number in the handbook or on a dealer invoice is often for a different unit than the one actually fitted, and a wrong serial buys you a wrong code.
