Serial starts with M
This unit does not show its serial on screen. The newer 6000 CD does, with buttons 1 and 6, but that does not work on this one — the serial is on a label on the side of the case.
You will needA set of Ford radio release keys, under £10 online. Four fine screwdrivers will do the same job if you already have them.
- 1Push a key into each of the four extraction holes, one at each corner of the face.
- 2Press outwards on opposite sides while drawing the radio towards you.
- 3The serial is on the label on the side of the radio case.
Take it off the radio, not off paperwork. The number in the handbook or on a dealer invoice is often for a different unit than the one actually fitted, and a wrong serial buys you a wrong code.
