Serial is seven numbers, no letter
This unit does not show its serial on screen. On the older Fords the number is only on the label on the case, so the radio has to come out.
You will needA set of Ford radio release keys (DIN keys), under £10 online.
- 1Push a release key into each of the four corner holes in the fascia.
- 2Apply gentle outward pressure and the unit slides forward. No wires need disconnecting.
- 3The serial is on the sticker on the back or side of the unit. Enter it exactly as printed, including the prefix letter.
Take it off the radio, not off paperwork. The number in the handbook or on a dealer invoice is often for a different unit than the one actually fitted, and a wrong serial buys you a wrong code.
