Serial is the 8-digit number on the radio’s label
This unit does not show its serial on screen. On a Becker the number is only readable once the radio is out of the dash.
You will needA pair of thin release keys, a few pounds from any motor factor. A few older Beckers have no key slots and need the trim surround released and the mounting screws taken out instead.
- 1Slide a key into each of the small slots at the bottom corners of the radio face.
- 2Once the keys click into place, draw the unit gently towards you.
- 3The serial is on the label on the back, or engraved into the metal on the top or side.
Take it off the radio, not off paperwork. The number in the handbook or on a dealer invoice is often for a different unit than the one actually fitted, and a wrong serial buys you a wrong code.
